Writer/photographer
I consider
myself both a photographer and a writer and am happiest working on projects
where I can express what I see and feel in both words and pictures. My
greatest passions are wildlife and travel, and my various work experiences
have pushed me further along a path which embraces these as well as a
desire to write and take pictures. I develop projects from stories that
inspire me, from sensitive environmentally oriented stories, to pure wildlife
and travel. I am attracted to unusual behaviour in wildlife and the reasons
behind it, and the fragile relationship between man and nature.

Career path
After graduating
from Kings College London with a degree in French and Spanish, I worked
at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park on the primate section until the mundaness
of the job provoked a realisation that my need to be close to wildlife
didn't necessarily mean working as a zoo keeper. Taking a job as a tour
leader, managing food and wine trips throughout Spain quenched my urge
to travel for a while, and fired a passion for good food, red wine and
Spain. I went on to work in film production which led me to make my own
wildlife film with National Geographic - a magical story about an orphaned
elephant that grew up with a herd of Cape buffaloes in Zimbabwe. It was
working there on location, taking pictures whenever possible and returning
home with inspiration to write, that made me realise my true career direction.

I have travelled
widely, speak fluent French and Spanish, and love Latin American literature.
I hope to never stop learning and gaining inspiration from all that the
natural world has to offer. |
