'In July 2004 my wonderful Mum Jo graduated from The University of London's Royal Holloway College with a degree in English. Congratulations to her! At the age of 60, she decided it was time to put her mind to some serious study and amazed us by completing a 3 year degree course. Whilst continuing to be the very special and supportive mother and grandmother she has always been to us 5 children and 11 grandchildren, she inspired us all with her sheer hard work, commitment, and gift for writing. After graduating, she had a long-feared hip operation and then went off travelling around the world, to visit family and friends that she hadn't seen for years. Thank you Mum for giving us all the love, strength and inspiration that you continuously do.'
